ZONARE Introduces Vascular Performance and Workflow Enhancements at Vascular Annual Meeting
Showcases Expanded z.one Ultrasound Platform Capabilities Optimized for Vascular Imaging at Vascular Annual Meeting (VAM)
CHICAGO, June 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- ZONARE Medical Systems, Inc., a developer of high-end ultrasound solutions, today announced performance and workflow enhancements for its z.one ultrasound platform, here at the 2011 Vascular Annual Meeting, June 16 - 18, 2011. Considered the premier meeting on vascular health, the meeting is presented by the Society for Vascular Surgery.
Designed to continually improve image quality and system performance, ZONARE's latest 4.7 software release includes new advanced software applications optimized for vascular imaging. Featuring B-steer enhancements of linear array transducers and new venous calculations, the release expands the clinical utility of the z.one system and offers improved vascular imaging performance and workflow.
The new C10-3 curved-array transducer offers Continuous Wave Doppler (CW) imaging designed for evaluating high velocity blood flow of cardiovascular anomalies. Abdominal high velocity CW Doppler is also available using the C4-1 and P4-1c transducers, ideal for assessing renal pathology. The release also features enhanced menu navigation and calculations, including added venous AP/Trans diameters and valve closure times, for faster patient throughput and more accurate diagnoses.
Vascular disease is among the leading causes of death in the U.S., yet is generally asymptomatic until a catastrophic event occurs. Ultrasound, a critical tool for the efficient diagnosis and treatment of vascular disease, has been proven to be accurate in detecting vascular disease prior to active warning signs and before a major medical incident such as stoke or sudden death from aneurysm rupture.
"The ability to use the z.one system as a full-featured cart-based system for routine ultrasound exams and during our non-invasive vein treatments without sacrificing image quality was a key reason we selected initially the ZONARE system in 2005. Since then, we have installed z.one systems in all 13 of our clinics due to the high imaging quality and user friendliness," said Claudia Benge, RVS, RVT, RPhS, FSVU, of Decatur Vein Clinic, Indianapolis, Indiana.
"We believe our customers should have the ability to influence the direction and priorities of our software and transducer advancements," said Jay D. Miller, president and CEO, ZONARE Medical Systems. "The enhanced vascular imaging capabilities in our latest 4.7 software release are the result of working closely with our customers to gather input and build it into the product roadmap to quickly deliver clinical performance and workflow enhancements."
