SHINOLA Introduces New Movements For BaselWorld 2015
DETROIT, March 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Shinola is introducing two new watch styles at BaselWorld 2015—The Rambler GMT with 24-hour hand and The Moon Phase Dial for both the Gomelsky and Runwell styles for tracking lunar phases—representing two additions to the Shinola movement lineup.
The Rambler GMT is Shinola's first dedicated travel watch. Features include an all-new Detroit-built Argonite 515.24H movement and a 24-hour hand and turning topring bezel for keeping accurate time when travelling across time zones. The 44-millimeter stainless steel case is water resistant to 100 meters and has a screw-down crown. Like all Shinola watches, The Rambler, features a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and comes fitted with a handcrafted leather strap for a casually refined look. The Rambler GMT will launch with 4 different variations of dial and strap color and will be available at retail May 2015 with a retail price of $750.
The Gomelsky Moon Phase takes one of Shinola's most popular women's timepieces and adds an all-new custom designed moon dial to track lunar phases over the course of a month, from waxing to full to waning. The additional function is driven by Detroit-built Argonite 708 movement, which moves the lunar disc through its course every 29.5 days, as shown in the aperture at the center of the dial. The Gomelsky Moon Phase retains the same 36-millimeter case size as its predecessor but features a wider 16-millimeter strap opening. This style will launch in both a two-tone stainless steel case with a gold PVD-plated bezel, and cream dial with a leather strap as well as a black dial and strap with stainless steel case. The Gomelsky Moon Phase will be available at retail March 2015 with a retail price of $650 and $600 respectively. Later on in May 2015, The Runwell Moon Dial will launch in 8 variations of dial and strap color.
These new timepieces build on Shinola's commitment to manufacturing in the United States, and mark the next evolution in the brand's assembly of increasingly complex movements in Detroit. To build The Rambler GMT and The Gomelsky Moon Phase Dial, newly hired craftspeople were trained through a rigorous coaching program and detailed hands-on instruction. The result is an unmatched level of quality, and handcrafted watches that are guaranteed for life and built to last even longer.
