German Sensor Expert SICK Selects MobileIron for its Global Mobile IT Needs
MUNICH and MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Oct. 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- For SICK, a worldwide leader in the sensor industry, protecting e-mail, contact, and calendar data is just as important as protecting intellectual property. The company selected MobileIron (NASDAQ: MOBL), the leader in mobile enterprise security, to manage more than 1,500 iPhones across its global operations. The Freiburg branch of Bechtle IT System House was the partner that implemented SICK's enterprise mobility management (EMM) system.
"We reviewed some of the leading EMM solutions and MobileIron's secure access to PIM data and its central management system really won us over," said Ralf Risch, Manager Frontend Service Delivery of SICK in Waldkirch.
Today, SICK relies on the MobileIron's full portfolio of products to support its mobility initiatives. MobileIron Sentry allows SICK to securely manage access to email, contact, and calendar data on the company server. SICK uses AppTunnel to allow employees to securely access the company intranet from mobile devices. AppTunnel also provides an encrypted connection and access control for protecting app data during transfers.
Docs@Work is especially important as SICK looks to secure mobile content. "We use Docs@Work to give employees secure access to email attachments. This makes them more productive and is a central part of our employees' mobile workflow," said Ralf Risch.
