Beijing's Water Cube Expands Family Travel Options in China
BEIJING, Feb. 17 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- As travel in China is mainly concentrated on sightseeing and historical attractions, it can be worrisome for parents with young children who want to tour the Mainland. The China Guide ( http://www.TheChinaGuide.com ), a Beijing-based travel company that have years of hands-on experience traveling with children, are putting parents at ease. Big cities have plenty to offer families, especially in the capital of Beijing which will be home to a new water park this summer 2010.
The Water Cube is an iconic structure in Beijing and photographed by travelers every day. Re-designing the interior to house a new waterslide park is much anticipated in the city and will be a welcomed activity for families. "Parents making travel plans always inquire about swimming pools and try to arrange hotels throughout China that have this option for their children. Swimming and waterslides are one of the lures of travel for kids," says Peter Danford, Managing Director of The China Guide. "We are excited for the new water park to open as this is something Beijing has been lacking. Activities like this are a great way to mix up sightseeing with something fun for the kids."
Along with the new water park, The China Guide can customize family itineraries that combine both famous sights as well as something entertaining for the kids. A good mix of both sightseeing and shopping includes a visit to Mutianyu Great wall which has a toboggan slide to the bottom and then a stop to the Pearl Market for clothes or souvenirs, conveniently located next to Beijing's Toy Market. Dumpling-making classes are also popular for families and can be done in a traditional family home in Beijing's historic Hutong district. There is a wide selection of family-friendly activities for all ages.
Beijing's evening shows are another great source of entertainment. The China Guide offers discount tickets for nightly performances of Chinese Acrobatics and the Beijing Kung-Fu Show. "I have three young children of my own so helping families plan travel in China comes naturally. Our team is happy to offer itineraries that will keep the family happy doing things we know are worth-while for kids," adds Danford.
