2017 Wei Hai ITU Triathlon World Cup come to a successful end
WEIHAI, China, Oct. 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Cri Online (journalist Zhao Bo): 2017 Wei Hai ITU Triathlon World Cup was successfully held in Wei Hai on Sept.30 to Oct.1. The 1328 athletes from 34 different countries and areas competed in the game. Uxio Abuin Ares form Spain won the championship of men's group and Jolanda Annen of Switzerland won the championship of women's group.
The World Cup game include three parts: 1.5 kilometers swimming, 40 kilometers cycling and 10 kilometers running. The whole competition distance is 51.5 kilometers. The game was divided in men's group and women's group. Only those top5 athletes of the countries can sign up this game.
Different from the World Cup standards, the whole distance of ITU Triathlon World Cup is 128 kilometers, which include 3 kilometers swimming, 100 kilometers cycling and 25 kilometers mountain running. This long distance race is suitable for those who are not satisfied with the Olympic standard distance and want to challenge themselves.
The Spain athlete Uxio Abuin Ares won the championship of men' group in 1 hour and 56 minutes and 15 seconds. And the Switzerland athlete Jolanda Annen won the championship of women's group in 2 hours and 9 minutes and 47 seconds.
As an important base for the global triathlon event, Wei Hai has held triathlon game for 10 years. This year the triathlon World Cup has been upgraded to the Olympic series, and also launched the super triathlon game, which created a higher level arena for the athletes.
