Commenting on the announcement of the HJF, Mr. Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, UBM India said, "The Indian Gems & Jewellery Industry is the back bone of the economy. With a market size estimate of Rs 3 lakh crore per annum, the sector is the second highest employer after the IT industry, employing roughly 2.5 million people. According to industry reports, it is also witnessing changes in consumer preferences worldwide. Consumers in India are youngsters who look for bespoke designs, seasonally trending styles, and indulge in omni-channel shopping experiences - buying digitally as well as from brick and mortar stores. The organised jewellers are able to fulfil their expectations better than unorganised players, especially with the implementation of progressive steps like the GST."
He further added, "Hyderabad represents the large and growing South Indian manufacturing and retail markets and with HJF we are proud to play an important role in the region, generating sales and building better business relationships. This year, we have also reached an important milestone and achieved a new momentum with the 10th anniversary of our fair. We are glad to showcase over 150 companies providing the industry players to further their business."
Speaking on HJF 2017, Mr. Mahender Tayal, President HJMA & Regional Director GJEPC said, "I would like to congratulate UBM India on the 10th edition of the Hyderabad Jewellery, Pearl and Gem Fair 2017 (HJF 2017). Over the past decade, this fruitful platform has been one-of-its-kind in the region and has not only connected the traders with the retail community, but also established a long standing relationship between them. Significantly, the HJF has encouraged the much-needed sharing of intelligence and conducting of business, in the ever-changing economic scenario. Visitors to the HJF 2017 can look forward to an array of the finest jewellery, studded with pearls, ruby, emerald and diamonds."
The HJF 2017 will also witness the second edition of Retail Jewellers Guild Awards - Hyderabad, a unique initiative by UBM India through which excellence and efforts of individuals & organisations in the Retail Jewellery Business are recognised and honoured. The awards will draw out the best of the region's talent in the retail jewellery industry through a methodical, professional procedure. The extensive award categories this year are crafted, keeping in mind, the diverse activities of the retail jewellery industry in the state of Telangana & AP, comprising Design Excellence, Operational Excellence & Marketing Excellence. This year too, the awards ceremony will be marked by industry stalwarts who will share insights on the industry and exclusive fashion sequences focusing on stunning pieces of jewellery. The jury this year includes Mr. Mahendra Tayal, President HJMA, South Chairman - GJEPC, Mr. Avinash Gupta, President, FTAPCCI; Mr. Kailash Charan, President, Twin Cities Jewellers Association and Ms. Bijal Doshi Shah , Solitaire Diamond Institute, Hyderabad.
