NEW YORK, June 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- At the May 10, 2011 Annual Meeting of Shareholders for The Zweig Fund, Inc. (NYSE: ZF) and The Zweig Total Return Fund, Inc. (NYSE: ZTR), Wendy Luscombe and R. Keith Walton were re-elected to serve on each Fund's Board of Directors for an additional three year term.

In addition, at a meeting of the Board of Directors of each Fund held on the same date, the Board approved a reallocation of the fees paid to Zweig Advisors, LLC, the investment adviser to each Fund, and Zweig Consulting , LLC, the sub-adviser to each Fund, from a 60 percent/40 percent split, respectively, of the advisory fee paid by each Fund to an 80 percent/20 percent split, in recognition of the scope of their services to the Funds. Zweig Advisors, LLC concurrently voluntarily agreed to waive 20 percent of the advisory fee until further notice.
