SANTA CLARA, Calif. and LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Marvell (Nasdaq: MRVL) today announced that ZTE's flagship Grand Memo LTE smartphone has achieved China Mobile TD-LTE certification with Marvell's industry leading 4G LTE solution. Marvell's ARMADA® Mobile PXA1802 4G LTE modem enables ZTE's first TD-LTE smartphone now widely available for China Mobile's nearly 760 million subscribers. Enabling high performance 4G LTE devices, the Marvell PXA1802 modem integrates Time-Division Duplexing (TDD), Frequency Division Duplexing (FDD) Long-Term Evolution (LTE), Time Division Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCDMA), Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) and Enhanced Data for the GSM Environment (EDGE) technology onto a single chip that is fully backward compatible with current China TD-SCDMA standards. It is designed to meet the needs of the next generation of mobile connectivity. As one of the first 4G smartphones to receive China's TD-LTE mobile phone network access license and to pass China Mobile's CMCC OT tests, the ZTE Grand Memo LTE (U9815) demonstrates the advantages of Marvell solutions in TD-LTE and its cooperation with ZTE.

The Marvell's PXA1802 modem has a thin and cost-efficient architecture that allows fast implementation on the latest LTE and TD-SCDMA terminals in a flexible design. The PXA1802 supports next-generation LTE standards with 3GPP LTE Release 9 Category 4 up to 150 Megabits-per-Second (Mbps) downlink speed and Release 8 TD-SCDMA High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA+). In addition to Marvell's ARMADA Mobile PXA1802 LTE modem, the ZTE Grand Memo LTE (U9815) also features Marvell's 88RF838 transceiver, 88PG8211 and 88PM809 for its power management unit (PMU).
