Zoom Looks into Behavior of "The Avid Runner"
NEW YORK, Sept. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Zoom Active Lifestyle Marketing – Zoom, the world's largest fitness digital media company, is further demonstrating their expertise of the Active Lifestyle category and developing a deeper understanding of the consumers' mindsets and behaviors.
Zoom is a thought leader when it comes to the Active Lifestyle Consumer. The company has already completed one White Paper about the Active Lifestyle Consumer (the Health Club member), and is now publishing the second, in a series of four research studies, this one regarding the Avid Runner. "With more than 98 million Americans described as Active Lifestyle Consumers, it made sense for us to learn more about this group of people. What we are learning is that the Active Lifestyle Consumer is one of the most attractive demographic groups, and is extremely hard for most brands to reach," stated Thomas Link, Senior Executive Vice President of Zoom. "The results of the study are just another illustration of the uniqueness of the Active Lifestyle Consumer."
The Avid Runner is a strong sub-group of the Active Lifestyle audience, and there were a number of surprises revealed by the research. "Despite the amount of time the Avid Runner dedicates to training for events, they also make time to participate in other sports and activities," commented Tony Healy, Senior Director of Research at Zoom. "They are incredibly likely to participate in other things like weightlifting, mountain biking, aerobics, tennis and yoga—all in addition to being Avid Runners."
With the assistance of third party research firms such as MRI and Nielsen, Zoom is in the process of researching Volumes Three and Four of the Active Lifestyle Consumer White Papers, "The Workout Warrior," and "The Social Active."
