ZMDI, a global semiconductor company, is proud to announce that it will be exhibiting and presenting at the 2012 Darnell Power Forum held in San Jose September 19th to 21st
DRESDEN, Germany, Sept. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ - Zentrum Mikroelektronik Dresden AG (ZMDI), a Dresden-based semiconductor company that specializes in enabling energy-efficient solutions, announces that it will be presenting and exhibiting again in 2012 at the Darnell Power Forum, which will be held September 19-21 at the Doubletree Hilton Hotel in San Jose, California. As a global supplier of analog and mixed-signal solutions for automotive, industrial, medical, information technology and consumer applications, ZMDI recognizes that the Darnell Power Forum is an excellent opportunity to showcase its product offerings.
This year, ZMDI will be presenting "Smart Power Delivers: Two Case Studies Demonstrate the Advantages of Superior Transient Performance" on the afternoon of September 20th during session 6: "Microgrids, Data Centers and Server Power." David Grice, field applications engineer for ZMDI, will be the featured speaker.
In line with its commitment to smart power management solutions, ZMDI continues to build on the success of the ZSPM1000, which is a configurable true-digital single-phase PWM controller for high-current, non-isolated DC/DC supplies. The ZSPM1000 is the smallest controller on the market today (4x4mm QFN), and yet it provides best-in-class transient response. It offers a full digital solution to the designer allowing flexibility and advanced control techniques. The ZSPM1000 will be the basis for a complete product family. The ZSPM1000 can meet the requirements of almost all of today's point-of-load supplies. Applications include telecom server/storage units, telecom switches, base stations, network routers and single-rail/single-phase supplies for processors, ASICs, FPGAs and DSPs, as well as general industrial applications.
"ZMDI's true-digital smart power management products are easy-to-use and enable the power engineer to quickly achieve a reproducible high-performance and optimized solution. While the device is running, optimizations can be made on the fly, which improves time-to-market for our customers," said Bernhard Huber, business line manager for standard components, ZMDI. "Compared to traditional pure-analog solutions, the digital communication enables tremendous energy savings and thermal management benefits through system-level integration. Power engineers will also appreciate the way our Pink Power Designer™ design optimizer tool balances design trade-offs such as cost, size and efficiency and helps to quickly identify the optimal POL solution."
"We are dedicated to the advancement of green technologies for the next generation of energy-efficient products. Our smart power technologies help deliver solutions that many consumers are now seeking, with features including performance, cost effectiveness, energy efficiency and minimal impact on natural resources. ZMDI is focused on this market," stated Edward Lam, vice president of product marketing and business development.
