MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- As healthcare continues its evolution beyond the traditional brick-and-mortar provider facility, Zipnosis announced today that it has hired an enterprise technology leader to further scale its virtual care offerings for a market that is hungry for convenient, quality care at a lower cost. Scott Brown, alumni of Medtronic with 20+ years of experience in building teams and enterprise-scale systems, joins Zipnosis as the company's new Vice President of Product and Engineering.
"We are pleased to welcome Scott to the Zipnosis family, and expect that he will quickly make an impact as he helps Zipnosis' product and development teams to rapidly extend and evolve our already market-defining virtual care platform," stated Jon Pearce, CEO at Zipnosis.
Healthcare organizations increasingly prefer the benefits of a virtual care platform over disjointed, siloed telemedicine solutions. Brown's hire, with his deep experience in building scalable, HIPAA-compliant and easily integrated systems, will further cement Zipnosis' position as the market leader that adeptly offers such virtual care at scale.
"Scott's hire represents our continued investment in leadership that extends our frontline position in a market we've aggressively cultivated for innovative, integrated virtual care," added Pearce. "Bringing Scott on board is part of our commitment to investing not just in the needs our customers have today, but what they will look for and expect in virtual care in the future.
Prior to joining Zipnosis, Brown held numerous senior executive technology positions, including the founding of his own software company where he developed outpatient care solutions that helped providers manage patients on complex care pathways and treatment plans. Before that, he was Vice President of Software Development at XRS Corporation, where he led global teams in modernizing legacy systems and launching new ones; and Senior Engineering Manager at Medtronic, where for over a decade, he led initiatives to bring to life some of the company's most innovative medical devices on the market today.
Brown predicts virtual care will play a major role in the future of healthcare—and sees Zipnosis as a company leading this transformation to convenient, affordable care.
"It is very clear that there's a huge shift in healthcare taking place, one that is going to disrupt and supplant the unsustainable way care is currently being delivered," Brown observed. "Zipnosis is perfectly positioned to capitalize on that disruption with a virtual care platform that expands access to more patients at a lower cost—while improving the quality and experience."
