OTTAWA, Ontario, Oct. 31, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Zighra, the AI-powered continuous authentication and threat detection company, announces its latest patent with the U.S. patent office. The patent enables Zighra to create highly personalized user-device models to guard against account take-over, social engineering, and automated bot attacks plaguing the connected economy.
The patent builds on the behavioral intelligence layer of Zighra's foundational patent on N-dimensional authentication. It covers Zighra's newly-created proprietary lightweight machine learning algorithms that can run locally on a device. By leveraging device sensors including touchscreens, accelerometers and gyroscopes, Zighra's machine learning technology implicitly and invisibly authenticates both smart devices and users. The technology provides continuous proof of presence based on the way the user interacts with their devices (i.e. swipe, scroll, tap, walk with, etc.), enabling a frictionless user experience.
Today, businesses still struggle to provide optimal security experiences thanks to the rise in the complexity of apps and the requirement to deliver them to smaller, faster devices. "Traditional machine learning approaches take a long time to learn and need to run in the cloud or on servers. It is critical that security solutions learn quickly and apply that learning for authentication and threat detection," says Deepak Dutt, CEO of Zighra. "This essentially requires that we have the capability to implement machine learning and anomaly detection completely on-device."
As we move into a sensor-based world driven by smartphones, IoT devices and connected vehicles, creating personalized user models is increasingly important to authenticate users, and protect against intruders and automated attacks.
This latest patent comes on the heels of the company's previous patent covering its technology powering the ability to create cognitive signatures to authenticate each user through sensor-based intelligence obtained from six distinct layers of data.
Zighra is looking to work with companies that want to license the platform. Those who are interested, visit www.zighra.com.
