Zenverge Appoints Jon Castor to Board of Directors

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Zenverge, a leading developer of advanced content networking ICs, today announced that Jon Castor has been appointed to the company's board of directors.       

Castor is a successful entrepreneur and experienced public and private company director who brings more than 25 years of industry experience to the Zenverge board.  He has held leadership positions on the boards of several public and private technology companies, including Adaptec, California Micro Devices, Genesis Microchip, Omneon, TeraLogic, VisualOn, and Zoran.   Castor is a leader in the field of digital media technology who's worked to build companies that have developed world class semiconductors, software, and systems solutions:  He was Chairman of the Board of Omneon (broadcast video servers and active media storage) for the four years up until it was acquired by Harmonic in 2010.  He also co-founded and was promoted to CEO of TeraLogic (a pioneer in HDTV SOCs whose strategic allies included Sony, Mitsubishi, and Samsung), until it was acquired by Oak Technology in 2002.  Prior to TeraLogic, he was an independent venture capitalist and strategy consultant for 15 years.  During this time he helped build two substantial new businesses inside established NYSE corporations.  He's also held corporate strategy roles at Gulf Oil and Fairchild Semiconductor.
