Zenith Infotech Helps Rain Technologies Deliver on 'Reliability and Support' Value Proposition
WARRENDALE, Pa., March 10 /PRNewswire/ -- If you're in the position of having to earn a living, it's a pretty safe bet that you've felt some concern about the economic climate. And while large, politically well-connected financial institutions and automakers may be deemed "too big to fail," owners of small companies know they can only rely on their hard work and good judgment to remain in business. Fortunately, there are ways to not only survive, but also thrive during a recession. And Andrew Jahnke, owner and president of Rain Technologies, thinks he may have found something just like that.

Founded in 2001, Rain Technologies provides a broad range of IT services to client businesses in the Colorado Springs, Col. area. Jahnke and his staff of four full-time employees and one contractor serve the IT management needs of mostly small-and-midsized businesses that have 20 – 200 users. Rain Technologies services include fully hosted servers and infrastructure, hardware-as-a-service, software-as-a-service, and hourly break/fix service.
Since early 2009, Jahnke has made Zenith Infotech's managed services, along with Zenith's backup and disaster recovery (BDR) solution, integral to Rain Technologies' portfolio of offerings. So key in fact, that when it comes to helping his company deliver on its value proposition to customers, Jahnke says Zenith Infotech is "the backbone of our assurance of reliability and support."
Though Rain Technologies doesn't especially target any particular vertical market, Jahnke notes that medical providers make up a big percentage of his company's client base. And in offering Zenith solutions as part of the "IT Umbrella from Rain," Jahnke has found healthcare businesses very receptive to the security and superior backup and disaster recovery solutions that Zenith provides.
In particular, Jahnke has found Zenith Infotech's business continuity solution to be effective in opening doors. "I'd say the reaction to the capabilities of the BDR during sales presentations is always very positive." With such features as frequent backups at multiple restore points, bare metal restoration to dissimilar hardware, and standby server virtualization within minutes, Zenith Infotech's BDR solution provides enterprise-class protection at a price that fits small business budgets.
According to Jahnke, affordability is one of the things that most sets Zenith Infotech apart from other managed services vendors on the market. He notes that Zenith makes it easy for IT solution providers to enter the managed services arena by requiring only a low upfront investment on highly effective, comprehensive solutions.
But it's with Zenith Infotech's managed services that Jahnke has seen the greatest impact on his business. By relying on Zenith Infotech's network operations center (NOC) to take care of routine maintenance and monitoring functions and then leveraging Zenith's software and application support to manage desktops, servers, SNMP network devices and applications, solution providers have discovered managed IT services made easy. As Jahnke reports, "Moving to the MSP model using the Zenith solution has increased our recurring revenue about 150 percent in the last year."
But more revenue is only part of the greater profits equation. Jahnke adds, "I haven't pulled all the metrics yet on the support side, but there's no question we can solve a lot more problems in much less time by supporting our managed workstations remotely."
That is a pretty good outcome when you know you can't count on anyone for a bailout.
