Zed Powers U.S. Cellular's New Tone Room Deluxe Storefront
Zed's Master Content Service Provider (MCSP) Manages Merchandizing, Marketing, and Delivery of Mobile Content to U.S. Cellular
DENVER, June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Zed, the world's leading mobile entertainment company, today announced the first U.S. deployment of its Master Content Service Provider (MCSP) in partnership with U.S. Cellular's Tone Room Deluxe storefront. Using Zed's MCSP, U.S. Cellular centralized the way mobile entertainment, like ringtones and ringbacks, are merchandized, marketed, programmed and distributed for their storefronts whether accessed through the Web, BREW or smartphone platforms.
"We're excited about being able to deliver an even richer mobile music experience," said Joe Settimi, Senior Director of Product for U.S. Cellular. "Tone Room Deluxe provides our customers with access to the latest ringbacks and ringtones – all in one integrated storefront."
By leveraging Zed's MCSP, the new Tone Room Deluxe allows consumers to assign ringback tones to both individuals and groups within their contacts list. U.S. Cellular subscribers have the option to buy a la carte products or purchase a monthly subscription for the ringback and ringtone service which entitles them to receive two tones per month. With the subscription, additional content purchases are provided at a discounted rate.
"Our deployment with U.S. Cellular is an example of how Zed is simplifying the process of managing content for our partners, reducing both cost and time-to-market," said Blaine Cheshire, general manager of Zed's U.S. Operations. "Zed also keeps the end-user top of mind by programming current content from the hottest hits to emerging artists, keeping customers on the leading edge of new music content."
Wireless operators continuously seek ways to reduce costs and streamline content management and delivery. Zed's MCSP efficiently negotiates the technical complexities of delivering and supporting different content types, price points and mobile operating systems into a combined storefront. Carrier partners like U.S. Cellular also benefit from Zed's deep content catalog and extensive partnerships with all the major and independent record labels.
More than 32 operators worldwide have already partnered with Zed on this one-stop-shop platform solution leveraging Zed's in-house expertise and more than 10 years experience in the digital entertainment and wireless industries.
