Zareba Launches First Online Electronic Fence Planner Using GPS Technology

LITIZ, Pa., March 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Woodstream Corporation, a global manufacturer of animal control products including FiShock and Zareba brand of electronic containment systems that provide safe, economical alternatives to barbed wire fencing, has added a unique Fence Planner (www.zarebasystems.com/fence-planner) to its Zareba Systems website.  Woodstream is the first manufacturer in the industry to utilize this type of technology to map out and design fencing for its customers.

Powered by Google maps, this innovative guide allows users to configure an extremely accurate electric fencing system using satellite technology.  Because users do not need to physically go outdoors and measure, the tool decreases errors in needed wire lengths, connectors and other related components.  This new planner makes configuring a fence quick, easy and more convenient.

The new tool also allows the user to view various fencing scenarios before settling on the one that is right for their application, facilitating easier installation and a more reliable system for the user's specific enclosed area.

By simply answering a few questions in the fence planning guide, like what is the perimeter of the powered fence, what kind of terrain is the property and what type of fence is desired, property owners can view their property and map out a fence from an aerial view.  The guide also walks users through the necessary items needed to ground the fencing system and suggest other useful accessories.

"Hobby farmers, cattle ranchers, equine and exotic animal owners can now plan and execute a variety of fencing scenarios, including a new standard electric fence, a high tensile fence or changes to an already existing fence by simply logging onto our website and answering some simple questions," said Andrea Itnyre, category development associate for the electronic containment division of Woodstream.  "Customers even have the option of ordering the fence that they mapped out online. The Fence Planner is a free service offered on the Zareba website and takes less than 20 minutes to use.  It includes everything needed to map out and purchase an electric fence online or at a local retailer and can be used on a smart phone.
