Zapoint Redefines Learning Management Systems With New Skills-Based Solution
New solution aligns talent faster, more efficiently with resource demands
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., April 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Today at Bersin IMPACT 2011, Zapoint announced the release of the Zapoint Learning Management Application within its SkillsMapper solution. The Learning Management Application provides tools for matching learning choices to skills gaps, helping employees make sense of their self-directed learning plan and faster progress toward achieving their career objectives.
"Companies often have training systems, but employees don't know how to use them to develop their careers," said Chris Twyman, founder and CEO of Zapoint. "The Learning Management Application within Zapoint SkillsMapper lets employees take ownership of their learning plan. It helps them close the gap between what they know today, and what they need to know for the next step on their career ladder. They feel good about their progress and their employers enjoy a more educated, motivated workforce."
The Learning Management Application uses a 100-point ranking scale to define an employee's skill level and the gap between the necessary skills for a particular position. Employees using Zapoint SkillsMapper to navigate their career paths can now easily select the exact training they need to achieve their objectives.
"Zapoint's highly visual and engaging depiction of an individual's skillset progression over time, which also relates that progression to the skills most required by an organization, is a great example of what breakthrough talent management technology is all about," said Steve Goldberg, a principal analyst at Bersin & Associates.
The web-based Learning Management Application provides SCORM-compliant training implemented through the Cloud SCORM Player. The acquisition of the skills-based learning management technology Tiuria was key to developing the Learning Management Application and integration into the Zapoint SkillsMapper platform.
