Soldiers' Angels, a nonprofit organization, will deliver the written letters and emails submitted on the websites to U.S. soldiers on behalf of the Ram Truck Brand and Zac Brown Band. Soldiers' Angels is a volunteer-led organization with more than 225,000 members providing aid and comfort to the men and women of the U.S. Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard, along with veterans and their families.
"If just one letter helps to restore a soldier's spirit, imagine what thousands of letters could do," said Fred Diaz, President and CEO – Ram Truck Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. "We encourage our Ram Truck owners, Chrysler Group employees and suppliers to remember the men and women who serve the country this Veterans Day by visiting one of the Ram Truck Brand sites or the Zac Brown Band sites to send their letter of appreciation. As Americans, we owe a huge debt of gratitude to our armed forces and the brave men and women who serve in them. The Ram Truck Brand is thankful to the many U.S. soldiers who have given their lives for our freedom, and the troops who continue to do so each and every day."
"We are extremely proud of the men and women who serve and protect our country. Year round we remember those service members our country has lost and those who continue to serve, and we try to honor their heroism with every chance we get," notes Zac Brown, front man of Zac Brown Band. "For us, the 'Letters for Lyrics' campaign has been hugely rewarding. We urge our fans, and everyone out there, to take time this Veterans Day to send a message, or many, to our troops currently overseas."
"Letters are one of the strongest links in the chain of morale between the home front and the battlefront," said Jeff Bader, Co-founder Soldiers' Angels. "By simply writing a letter of support online, you establish a direct link between citizen and soldier that shows our warriors their fellow Americans back home truly care. Letters for Lyrics provides a wonderful platform for those of us here in the United States to make a dramatic and positive impact on the morale of our troops serving in foreign lands thousands of miles away."
"Letters for Lyrics" earned a nomination for the Concert Marketing & Promotion Award at the 2010 Billboard Touring Awards.
