PORTLAND, Ore., Dec. 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- tru Independence announces today that Yuva Wealth Planning is the newest advisory firm to join their platform. The financial advisory practice will be led by Ahmet Sumer, most recently a Vice President and Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch in San Diego, where he will continue his new business.
"The tru Independence platform will enable me to focus on the fundamental goal of Yuva Wealth Planning: delivering excellent service and helping clients pursue and achieve their financial goals," said Ahmet Sumer. "I am thrilled to be starting this venture with tru Independence, as they share the same entrepreneurial drive and passion as I do. It is truly exciting to be part of the rapid evolution of our industry, where freedom, flexibility and the reduction of inherent conflicts are in the best interests of my clients."
Sumer has 20 years of experience in banking and private wealth management, both in the U.S. and abroad for firms including JP Morgan, HSBC and Wells Fargo. He received his undergraduate degree at Istanbul University, a master's degree in International Finance and Political Science at the Sorbonne in Paris. Ahmet holds designations of Chartered Financial Consultant certified by the American College of Finance and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor and Accredited Domestic Partnership Advisor from the College for Financial Planning.
Fluent in French, Italian, Spanish and Turkish in addition to English, Sumer chose a word from his native language to name his new firm. "Yuva is an idiomatic Turkish word that could be translated as nest. Its connotation is of some place secure and cared for, and that's the feeling I've always tried to impart to my clients," explains Sumer. "My approach is one of delivering a comprehensive wealth management package that begins with listening to each client's unique needs and ensuring every strategy is focused on what they want to achieve. I support an emphasis on impact investing and doing what is good for society and our environment."
"We are excited to partner with Ahmet in support of his mission of building a full-scale boutique financial planning firm that takes a holistic approach to wealth management, embodying the true meaning of 'yuva', while also allowing him to pursue his entrepreneurial vision," said Craig Butler, Managing Partner, tru Independence.
tru Independence provides the open-architecture platform and supporting resources that wealth managers and other financial services firms need to establish and operate their own independent business.
