Yukon Gold Mining Alliance Hosts Forums in New York City and Toronto - April 20th and 22nd
VANCOUVER, April 15 /PRNewswire/ - The Yukon Gold Mining Alliance (YGMA) is hosting two Yukon Forums in Toronto and New York City April 20th and 22nd respectively. This will be the third event hosted by the YGMA following a successful launch in Vancouver in February 2010 and presentations at the PDAC Conference in Toronto in March 2010.
The YGMA will present information on seven Yukon-based mineral exploration and development companies to the national and international investment community, complemented by presentations from the Yukon Government, in order to enhance awareness of the Yukon's exciting natural resource sector. Home of the famous Klondike Gold Rush in the late 1890s, Canada's Yukon is undergoing a new rush with new mines to be producing gold, silver, copper, lead and zinc by the end of this year, and several advanced gold projects generating exciting results.
"The purpose of the YGMA is to encourage investment in the Yukon and in mining companies with long-term commitments and investments in the territory," said YGMA Chair Scott Kent. "Hosting these forums in two of North America's largest financial centers is key to attracting investment to the Yukon."
The Yukon Forums will also feature presentations by all seven member companies Alexco Resource Corp. (TSX:AXR, NYSE-AMEX:AXU), Capstone Mining Corp. (TSX:CS), Copper Ridge Explorations Inc. (TSX-V:KRX), Golden Predator Royalty and Development Corp (TSX:GPD), Northern Freegold Resources Ltd (TSX-V:NFR), Victoria Gold Corp. (TSX-V:VIT) and Western Copper Corporation (TSX:WRN). Joining the group will be the Honourable Daniel Lang, Canada's Senator for the Yukon; Mr. Daniel Sullivan, Consul-General for Canada, New York City; Dr. Harvey Brooks, Deputy Minister-Yukon Economic Development and Mike Burke of the Yukon Geological Survey. For inquiries regarding the two upcoming forums, contact Galina Meleger, Marketing Communications at [email protected] or visit the website at www.ygma.ca to view the finalized agendas.
"The YGMA complements the activities that are already being carried out by individual companies and the Yukon government," added Kent. "We believe we can achieve more by sharing resources and working together."
The YGMA intends to host a number of events throughout North America and Europe in the coming months. In addition, YGMA will bring analysts, media and members of the investment community to the Yukon to visit some of Yukon's most exciting mines and exploration projects and see the Yukon first-hand.
