Youth Villages Named One of 50 Best Nonprofits to Work for in 2010
MEMPHIS, Tenn. April 8 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Youth Villages has been named one of the 50 Best Nonprofit Organizations to Work For in the United States by The NonProfit Times and Best Companies Group.
This year, its 2,300 counselors, teachers and staff will help more than 15,000 children with serious emotional and behavioral problems and their families. Founded and headquartered in Memphis, Youth Villages is one of the largest providers of services to children and families in the country.
Counselors work from 64 locations in 11 states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
The annual survey and award program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in the non-profit sector.

Youth Villages is a major employer of college graduates in the fields of social work, psychology and counseling in the areas it serves. Nearly one hundred college students will be participating in the organization's internship program this year.
