"I am honored and excited to have opened our Community Resource Center at Timberline Knolls," said Clark Flatt, president and CEO of JFI. "JFI will work collaboratively with the many outstanding organizations in Illinois that are already addressing this problem."
A recent Illinois Youth Risk Behavioral Survey reported:
- 1 out of 7 young people seriously considered suicide in the past 12 months
- Over 1 out of 13 young people attempted suicide in the past 12 months
"We are thrilled to be partnering with JFI whose mission is near and dear to everything we do on a daily basis at Timberline Knolls," said Kim Dennis MD, CEO and medical director at Timberline Knolls. "We are here to save lives. The work is hard and the stakes are high, but the reward speaks for itself. Partnering with JFI will enable us to reach even more parents, teens, educators and administrators who potentially can intervene with a teenager at risk of prematurely ending his or her own life."
