With one-third of engagements happening between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day and 10 percent of all proposals happening on Valentine's Day, many newly engaged couples may be thinking, "Now what?!" "The first mistake people often make is that they think small - meaning, as soon as the ring goes on, they slip away and start buying all the little things they think they want or need and that could really ruin a budget," says David Tutera.  "Don't focus so much on the little trinkets of your theme – take care of the big details first and then leave the small stuff for later."

A bride's posture reflects her mood. Stand tall. Sit up straight. A bride should always be polished and polite!  Practice good wedding etiquette – starting with the receiving line; stop by each table at the reception, be prompt with thank you cards.

Don't forget to budget for beauty. You've been planning this day all your life, so you want to make sure you look like the best version of "you." Book hair and makeup trials and make style choices that enhance your dress and flatter your face. Think about your everyday look, the one your groom fell in love with, and take it to the next level for your big day.

Most brides wish to enhance or improve their teeth so they look their best. If you've been thinking about making the most of your smile, now is the time to do it. Not that one! Make a shot list for your photographer to be sure he/she captures those once-in-a-lifetime moments on your wedding day… getting ready with your bridesmaid; your groom's face as you walk down the aisle; parents and grandparents and assign someone to point out family and friends.

Head to Toe Fashion 

The right shoes, the right jewelry and the right headpieces can elevate the style of a simple dress and really work together to tell your wedding story. With accessories, you can add a pop of color, some texture and bling or some drama!  Draw inspiration from your gown. Remember that jewels, shoes and other embellishments are an easy way to change up your look between ceremony and reception.
