NEW YORK, June 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- YouNow, the popular live-streaming social network, launches Moments, which for the first time enables users to capture and share short video segments from their favorite creators' live broadcasts. Users and broadcasters can record and share clips up to 15 seconds long.
In addition to allowing users to capture snippets live, Moments also makes it easy for them to catch up on what they may have missed (no more "FOMO") via a new feed that highlights moments from their communities.
Says YouNow Founder/CEO Adi Sideman, "Moments is transformative for YouNow. For the first time, users can share their favorite broadcasts with the world. Moments make broadcasters more discoverable and fans can now play a bigger role in promoting their favorite creators. Moments also makes YouNow more participatory, as all users can become content creators and distributors."
Users can capture moments from any live broadcast by tapping and holding the screen. They then have the option to write a caption and share it on social media.
YouNow has more than 150,000 broadcasts per day, and streams more than 50,000 hours of original content each day. Engagement is high, with 70% of users – mostly between ages 13 and 24 — spending at least 51 minutes on the platform.
