Youngevity Launches International Expansion With Opening of Philippines Office As South Asia Base
SAN DIEGO, July 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Youngevity Essential Life Sciences has taken a key step in its international expansion by opening an operation in the Philippines to serve South Asia and launching sales and recruiting there.
"We said we intend to penetrate international markets and that process is now underway," said Steve Wallach, Youngevity's CEO. "Our regional office in Manila gives us an excellent base for introducing our products and opportunity throughout the dynamic markets of South Asia. This is just the start of our aggressive global growth strategy. We're tremendously excited about what global expansion will do for our company over the years ahead," he added.
Wallach noted that major direct sales companies, including Herbalife, Avon, Amway and Mary Kay, have international scope. "We fully intend to build a presence everywhere in the world. This signals our intention to be a truly international company," said Wallach.
Youngevity recently appointed David Almarinez as president, Southeast Asia Region of DrinkACT (www.drinkACT.com), the company's international division. DrinkACT held a pre-launch meeting of regional sales force leaders in Manila last week and has begun enrolling distributors. "We had four times as many guests attending our pre-launch meeting as we expected. Sales for our first week of operations have exceeded our expectations," said Almarinez. DrinkACT will hold an official grand opening event in Manila this fall.
Brent Jensen, vice president of Business Development, said the Manila office will serve the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand with marketing, customer service and administrative support. "Those countries contain more than 360 million people and we plan further expansion," he noted. "The relationships of family and friends are a strong part of the culture in Asia, so relationship-based marketing really strikes a chord."
