Youngest auctioneer to be elected to Tennessee Hall of Fame sets sights on service to customers, colleagues
SELMER, Tenn., Feb. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Only a few Tennessee auctioneers find their way into the Tennessee Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame, and none has ever done so at age 35. So when Tranzon's Tim Mast was inducted recently at that age, he naturally faced the question, "Now what?"
"While I'm excited about the recognition I've received, it's important to keep perspective and keep doing the things that have made it possible: Work hard to get the best possible results for my sellers, and keep helping my fellow auctioneers do the same," said Mast, who has already served as president and a board member of the state association. He also has been involved in the sale of almost $100 million worth of real estate in 30 states and is in demand as a speaker on real estate auctions.
"While we sell nationwide, the top priority is to focus on our core market here in Tennessee and the Southeast. The real estate market has made a good comeback, but I don't think we're out of the woods yet, and only time will tell how sustainable the recovery is. The thing I know for certain is that a well promoted auction will consistently get a property sold at a fair market value," he said.
Commercial properties have been a major feature in Mast's auctions during the past couple of years, he said. "Our staff has been very busy with a number of office buildings, warehouses, industrial buildings and land, restaurants, hotels and apartment complexes. I expect to see more of that in the months ahead, perhaps along with an increase in the number of residential properties," Mast said.
