YouCaring Congratulates Survivor Champion, Adam Klein, for Honoring His Mother with His Mission to Find a Cure for Lung Cancer
Klein plans to donate money raised to Stand Up 2 Cancer Lung Cancer Dream Team and the Bonnie Addario Lung Cancer Foundation
SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Adam Klein walked away with the idol as winner of Season 33 of Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X, but he is even more proud of the opportunity it gave him to honor the memory of his mother, another avid Survivor fan.
Klein dedicated his season to his mother, Susie Klein, and her battle against lung cancer, which she unfortunately lost just days after he returned home from filming. In honor of Susie's legacy, Klein began a free YouCaring fundraiser to support lung cancer research prior to the show's September premiere.
For Klein the win is bittersweet. "My fundraising experience has been great. From the first step I felt supported by the YouCaring platform and team. It means so much to know all the money I raise will go to lung cancer research in my mom's name. #LiveLikeSusie," explained Klein, given that YouCaring charges no fixed platform fees.
When Klein began his fundraiser his goal was to raise $50,000 and he is well on his way to that goal with $44,000 raised as of today. Klein plans to donate the money to two lung cancer organizations: Stand Up 2 Cancer Lung Cancer Dream Team and the Bonnie Addario Lung Cancer Foundation. To contribute, please visit Klein's YouCaring page here.
"We want to congratulate Adam on his victory on Survivor this season, knowing the deep meaning it held for his family and his mother's legacy," explained Dan Saper, President of YouCaring.com.
