AKRON, Ohio, March 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- FirstMerit Bank is encouraging their employees and customers to support the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank's annual Harvest for Hunger campaign. To become involved in the campaign, simply bring a non-perishable food item or monetary donation to any of the 47 FirstMerit Bank locations in Akron or Canton for the entire month of April.

Harvest for Hunger, one of the nation's largest food & funds drives, is a 21-county effort that runs through the end of April. Every dollar donated through Harvest for Hunger provides four meals to those facing hunger in the community. All donations made at FirstMerit remain local, and provide nourishing food at no cost to this facing hunger in Northeast Ohio.

The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank is a non-profit organization with a mission to Feed People and Fight Hunger.
