DENVER, January 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
In response to new legislation and more than a hundred billion dollars of government funding Yotta, the highways and infrastructure technology company, is launching its visualized asset management software Horizons in the U.S. Designed as a cloud hosted solution Horizons allows for multiple data types to be integrated, visualized and utilized underpinning decision making and informing development plans for highways management. The launch of Horizons in the U.S. will be supported with the opening of a local office in Denver, Colorado, a new online resource (http://www.yotta-us.com) and a dedicated development team.
Nick Smee, Managing Director of Yotta commented, "Asset management is at the heart of MAP-21 and Horizons is at the heart of asset management. A key requirement of MAP-21 is the development by every state of a risk based asset management plan to preserve and improve the condition of the assets and the performance of the system. Failure to comply may result in a reduction in government funding. In addition State Departments of Transport must further define pavement and bridge conditions and performance management benchmarks. This is core functionality for Horizons. It was what the software was designed to do and it's what we have already helped more than 30 organizations around the world achieve."
MAP-21 the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act is the first long term highway authorization enacted since 2005. Representing a milestone for the U.S. economy MAP-21 provides much needed funds and more importantly policy and a framework to guide growth and development of the country's vital transportation infrastructure.
Horizons is a visualized Software-as-a-Service ("SaaS") asset management platform designed to make it easier for asset managers to visualize, manage and optimize all their asset management strategies and records in a unique and effective way using a single cloud-based solution. Since launching to the UK market in 2012 Horizons has experienced significant growth in sales with customers that include the UK Highways Agency, the London Borough of Richmond, Lancashire County Council and Infrastructure business Amey. The technology is now available in North America through the Denver office.
