York County FCU Raises Over $6,000 towards Ending Hunger in York County, Maine
SANFORD, Maine, Aug. 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- York County FCU's Ending Hunger Committee held its first Gala & Silent Auction on Saturday, August 12 to raise money in the fight against hunger in York County, Maine. The event attracted 65 attendees who enjoyed a night of fun while bidding on packages from local businesses and individuals.
"The Gala & Silent Auction was a true reflection of how local businesses, organizations, and individuals can come together to support the communities we live in and serve by donating goods and services," said Erin Jones, Chair of York County FCU's Ending Hunger Committee. "Through this generosity, we raised over $6,000 to help fight hunger in York County."
The Gala & Silent Auction raised $6,704 towards York County FCU's Ending Hunger Campaign. At the end of the year, York County FCU distributes the money raised towards local food pantries and soup kitchens across York County, Maine.
York County Federal Credit Union (YCFCU) is a community-centered financial institution based in York County, Maine.
