Yodle Opens 100,000 Square Foot Office in Austin; Expects to Hire Hundreds
Austin economy to receive significant financial influx as a result of Yodle's expansion
AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Yodle, a leader in local online marketing, today announced that it has moved into a leased space of 100,000 square feet in Austin, located at 12234B North IH 35. The new office will accommodate Yodle's 375 current Austin employees, previously spread across three separate locations, and offers significant room for expansion with the company planning to grow its Austin staff to more than 750 employees over the next five years. These expected new hires will likely result in an additional $100+ million going into the local economy.
"Yodle's expansion adds to the growing list of innovative technology companies that have chosen to make a significant investment in Austin," said Austin Mayor Lee Leffingwell. "I am confident that the business-friendly environment that we've created in Austin will provide Yodle with the support that the company needs to succeed. I look forward to tracking Yodle's growth over the next few years and seeing its positive impact on the economy."
Yodle first established a presence in Austin in May 2011 after acquiring ProfitFuel, a locally based SEO company focused on working with small businesses. Yodle already had offices in New York, Boston, Charlotte, and Scottsdale. Since the acquisition, Yodle has doubled its headcount in Austin, with hiring primarily focused on sales and client services roles. Going forward the company's recruiting will continue to be heaviest in those two departments while also including a number of positions in its tech, HR and marketing operations teams.
"We're thrilled that Yodle decided to expand its operations in Austin," said Opportunity Austin Chairman Gary Farmer. "We're grateful for Yodle's confidence and investment in Austin, and are excited to watch the company's continued success in the years to come."
Yodle CEO Court Cunningham added: "Yodle's operations in Austin have already grown significantly over the last year. We've chosen to accelerate our expansion in Austin because of the deep talent pool, innovative culture, and ideal economic environment that the city offers. Making this investment in Austin will further enable Yodle to put itself at the forefront of the fast growing and sizeable local online marketing space."
Yodle is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony at its new office on the morning of September 19th to celebrate the company's expansion. Mayor Leffingwell will join Mr. Cunningham, traveling in from New York, to mark the occasion. Other Austin business, political and community leaders will also attend the event.
