Yiwu, China Builds International Forest Product Fair Platform
YIWU, China, Oct. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Seventh China Yiwu (International) Forest Product Fair will be held in Yiwu, China from November 1st to 4th, 2014. The 3,000-booth fair, themed "harmonious coexistence and sustainable use", will provide 3,000 international standard booths capable of housing 1,200 exhibitors. During the 4-day session, more than 250 companies from over 30 countries and regions will showcase their products, while over 5,000 traders from over 100 countries and regions will attend in order to source products.
The highly reputed fair took its reputation a step further, when, in 2013, it became certified by UFI, the global association of the exhibition Industry, becoming the first fair so certified in the agriculture and forest category in China.
The organizers have decided to highlight four important areas this year:
- In line with this year's theme, the fair will actively promote green consumption and forest certifications, advocate legal usage of forest resources as well as sustainable development and the balance between consumption and growth of forest resources. The fair is doing its bit by choosing "green" exhibitors and products as well "green" vendors for booths and design-themed activities.
- The fair is applying smart tools to inform, manage and serve the public intelligently through large-scale application of next-generation IT, such as cloud calculation, the mobile internet, big data and e-commerce, in addition to WeChat and other new media marketing to promote public awareness of the event. Use of downloadable apps, a low-carbon form of client communication, is urged for attendee registration, booth navigation, event enrollment and follow-up services.
- The fair is going international by inviting more exhibitors, purchasers, PR specialists and industry influencers from abroad to the event and holding more globally-themed events. Special events, including the Multinational Purchasing and Global Sourcing Meeting as well as the Ministerial Conference on International Wood Processing, will be held during the fair to promote international communication and cooperation across the sector.
- The quality of support activities is being continuously upgraded with the hosting of several special fairs including the Fourth China Wood (Bamboo) Carving Fair, the Second Tooth Carving Fair, the Third China Innovative Products Competition, the Sixth Taiwanese Selected Farming and Forest Products Fair. The organizers will also host a series of conferences and forums in a move to enhance communication and cooperation between international and domestic industry players.
