SAN ANTONIO, March 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The San Antonio Spurs relaunched their official mobile app for iOS and Android devices this week with the goal of enhancing the overall user experience, both for fans attending games at the AT&T Center and those following the team from home.
From the moment they open the new-look app, redesigned through a collaboration with YinzCam, the mobile app and software developer based in Pittsburgh, Spurs fans will immediately identify a striking new interface. With an emphasis on discoverability, the clean layout and menus make for easier navigation throughout the app and quick access to team stats, schedules and standings, while allowing the Spurs' digital team to surface new content and promotions in a prominent way.
Upon entering the Spurs' home, fans will be able to navigate their way throughout the facility using a new Interactive Map feature within the app, that allows them to quickly locate their seating section, or the nearest Fan Shop, restroom or escalator. Craving nachos? The search feature also allows hungry fans to quickly find the nearest stand or restaurant that offers the concessions and dining options that they are looking for.
Fans accessing the interactive map via an iOS device will also see their current position on the map, identified by a blue dot. The Apple Indoor Positioning feature even recognizes what level the fan is on within the facility and changes the mobile display as they go from one floor to the next.
Perhaps the most exciting new feature introduced with the app upgrade, however, is the section of On-Demand Replays for fans at AT&T Center. As the club heads down the stretch of the season and into the 2018 NBA Playoffs, Spurs fans attending home games will be able to rewatch every dramatic dunk, big block, behind-the-back pass or clutch three-pointer. No longer will a fan be scrambling to find an in-house IPTV after hearing the roar of the crowd while they stand in line for a beer, or while in the restroom. Now they can open their app when they return to their seat and watch that memorable moment on their mobile device and watch it from up to four different camera angles, never having to miss an important play.
In addition, the all-new app introduced a Season Ticket Member Club, which provides exclusive offers and discounts, and serves up the game-night menus for each of the four dining options available to members, based on the location of their season tickets. Members will also be pleased to find Single Sign-On for Ticketmaster's Account Manager, meaning the app will recognize them game after game, so they do not have to log back in each time to manage their tickets.
"The San Antonio Spurs spent months thinking about how to improve the mobile experience for their fans," said Priya Narasimhan, CEO and Founder of YinzCam, which developed the Spurs' original app in 2014. "We are proud to have helped them integrate some of our best practices, in terms of utilities available to fans in-arena, but also appreciated the fresh new ideas that they brought to the table to make this a truly unique app for San Antonio fans."
YinzCam is the premier mobile app developer in professional team sports, having built 21 of the NBA's team apps this season, including the last four NBA Champions, and more than 130 additional apps for teams, leagues, venues and events around the world.
