Yingli Energizes One of the First PV Power Plants in East Malaysia
BAODING, China and KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Feb. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Yingli Green Energy Holding Company Limited (NYSE: YGE) ("Yingli Green Energy" or the "Company"), one of the world's leading solar panel manufacturers, known as "Yingli Solar," today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Yingli Green Energy Singapore Company Pte. Limited ("Yingli Singapore"), has supplied one of East Malaysia's first solar power plants, a one megawatt (MW) solar farm located in the state of Sabah on the island of Borneo. The facility was commissioned this February after passing its initial operation date (IOD) and receiving a license to export power throughout Borneo in 2014. The project was developed by Cahaya Metro Sdn. Bhd. (Cahaya Metro), a leading solar energy company in East Malaysia.
The solar farm spans an area of approximately four acres in in Kg. Nyaris Nyaris, Bongawan, Sabah, Malaysia. It utilizes nearly 4,000 multicrystalline YGE 60 Cell Series panels that are estimated to generate approximately 1.5 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean electricity per annum. The opening ceremony of the project was officiated by Y.B Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Maximus Johnity Ongkili of the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water of Malaysia.
