Yext Unveils the Healthcare Location Cloud to Help Providers Reach More Patients
Purpose-Built Solution Integrates with New Partners, Including with Vitals and Wellness.com; Industry Veteran, Carrie Liken, Joins Team to Lead Yext Healthcare Initiatives
NEW YORK, Sept. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Yext, the global Location Data Management leader, today announced the Healthcare Location Cloud, a purpose-built solution for the unique needs of health systems and healthcare providers. The Yext Healthcare Location Cloud includes enhancements to Yext's award-winning platform that help health systems of all sizes solve their office, facility, and physician location data challenges — and ultimately attract new patients.
As part of today's announcement, Yext unveiled new partnerships with leading healthcare websites Vitals, Wellness.com, BetterDoctor, EZDoctor, Docspot, UCompareHealthCare, and DrScore that allow providers to publish data and content about their physicians and facilities in real time via Yext's patented Dual-Sync™ integrations.
"Mobile has fundamentally changed the way patients find and interact with health systems and providers," said Marc Ferrentino, Yext EVP of Strategy & Product. "That means it's critical for providers that their physicians and facilities appear consistently online in all the places patients search."
"No matter how much technology or the healthcare landscape changes, patients' needs remain the same. They need excellent — and often urgent — care," Ferrentino continued. "We are excited that the Yext Healthcare Location Cloud makes it easier for providers to ensure patients find the physicians and facilities they need. "The platform and partnerships help providers direct patients in real-time to the care they need which is critical in today's mobile world."
"Yext and Vitals share the common goal of providing accurate, actionable information about physicians and facilities," said Heyward Donigan, Vitals President & CEO. "Building integrations that allow physicians to manage and update their information when it changes helps us ensure data accuracy. We're excited to partner with Yext so we can deliver the most reliable physician and facility database available to consumers."
"Increased consolidation and physician movement in the healthcare industry are making it challenging for providers to maintain accurate information about their doctors and facilities," said John Valenty, Wellness.com CEO. "It's critical that the information patients find on our site is completely correct, and partnering with Yext helps ensure that what we share on Wellness.com always reflects the latest acquisitions and updates health systems make."
Providers can now store, manage, and publicize even more types of data and robust content with the Yext Healthcare Location Cloud. Starting today, the platform supports new provider and related fields, including:
- National Provider Identifier
- Physician Education & Training
- Gender
- Accepting New Patients
- Insurance Accepted
- Office Name
Steward Health Care's CMO Brian Carty commented, "Yext solved a bet-your-business problem for us, which was, 'How do you connect services with customers?' Buying a physician practice with up to 100 doctors is a big investment. We could see through our website traffic that we were having difficulty getting the right patients to the right physicians. Yext seemed to have this problem figured out really well — plus they are easy to work with and simply great partners."
Yext continues to invest in the Yext Healthcare Location Cloud's evolution. To create the best offering available for healthcare providers, the company hired industry veteran, Carrie Liken, to lead its healthcare division as the Head of Industry for Healthcare. Liken was previously at Google, where she worked with healthcare organizations of all sizes to better understand the patient journey, digital's impact on patient and customer acquisition and how to drive increased revenue and sales through digital means. She holds a degree in public policy and political science from Duke University and a Master of Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, where she focused on health policy. At Yext, Liken will lead all healthcare-related activities, including product and partnership development.
"Healthcare is inherently local, so the rise of mobile has dramatically changed the patient journey," said Liken. "I'm excited to partner with healthcare systems and providers to help tackle their office, facility, and physician location data challenges to improve that patient journey. Innovations like today's announcement are just the beginning of where the Healthcare Location Cloud is headed, and of how we will help healthcare systems face the location data crisis and navigate the changing informational landscape."
