YESCO Shines at the Grand Bazaar Shops Las Vegas
The Grand Bazaar Shops Las Vegas is the City's latest shopping attraction located at the busiest corner of the Las Vegas Strip.
LAS VEGAS, June 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Grand Bazaar Shops Las Vegas is a unique shopping and dining experience located at the heart of the famous Strip. Designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects the open air mall features dramatic colors and shaded passageways, emulating those found in historic public markets like Istanbul's Grand Bazaar and London's Portobello Road.
YESCO's involvement with the project was extensive and grew as the design and construction progressed, culminating in a scope of work that included fabricating and installing building facades, canopies, storefront detailing, project signage and lighting integration. The undulating facades and canopies are skinned in multi-colored scales that deliver vibrant and eye-catching scenes during the day and especially at night when illuminated by hundreds of programmable LED fixtures.
Central to the Grand Bazaar Shops' experience is the Swarovski Midnight Celebration, a three minute, fully immersive program designed to entertain shoppers and passers-by. The showpiece of the production is the YESCO-designed crystal and LED starburst light fixture. With over 1,800 individually programmable points of lights the starburst is perched 14-feet above the store. Hundreds of individually illuminated Swarovski crystal spheres; each positioned at the end of custom fabricated and highly-finished metal rods appear to burst from the center of the star during the nightly shows.
YESCO also fabricated the tall cylindrical color changing light posts that line the open plaza space in the center of the project.
Sam Nicholson, who led the owner's design and construction team said, "YESCO was a great partner on this project and proved to be capable beyond our original understanding of their company. Their involvement and 'can do' approach enabled us to solve many potentially costly puzzles in a short time frame."
YESCO's Project Director, Mitch Olorenshaw, who managed the company's involvement from concept to completion said, "This was a great project for us to be involved in and really highlights the amazing range of resources we have available to us at YESCO. I don't believe there are many companies out there that would be capable of delivering such a wide variety of architectural, experiential and informational features that communicate and perform automatically through one source of control."
