YESCO Electronics Sees Dramatic Improvement in Digital Billboard Energy Efficiency
LOGAN, Utah, Dec. 30, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- YESCO Electronics, the leading provider of digital billboards, has reached a new milestone in energy efficiency.
Today YESCO Electronics' digital billboards use one-fourth of the power required six years ago. "We have seen a steady decrease in power requirements year over year, and expect the trend to continue," said Rod Wardle, YESCO Electronics V.P. and General Manager. "In 2011, we anticipate another year over year decrease of 25% in power consumption."
"When you evaluate the power consumption of a digital billboard, it is important to understand current trends in the technology," said Rod Wardle. "Rapid improvements in efficiency make yesterday's power-consumption data out-of-date."
In a related development, the reduced power demand of digital billboards means they can operate using the same electrical connections that power conventional billboards. At night, digital billboards consume less power than most traditionally-illuminated billboards, due to YESCO Electronics' cutting-edge power efficiency and dimming technologies.
The advancement in power efficiencies is part of YESCO Electronics' commitment to create sustainable outdoor advertising technologies. Digital billboards allow the change of advertising copy without deploying vehicles or consuming traditional billboard advertising materials.
"The outdoor advertising industry demands that our products remain on the leading edge of efficiency," said Mike Freeborg, YESCO Electronics' Sales Manager. "It's in everyone's best interest to ensure that digital billboards are energy efficient, safe, and effective."
Digital billboards are made by YESCO Electronics in Logan, Utah. "Our facilities operate 24/7 in order to meet demand for this exciting product," said Mike Freeborg.
Digital billboards typically display still advertising messages that rotate every six or eight seconds.
YESCO Electronics is a partner with the Outdoor Advertising Association of America (OAAA) for the dissemination of Amber Alerts, FBI Alerts, and other emergency information on digital billboards throughout the country.
