XYZprinting Secures Global Market Leader Position in the Desktop 3D-Printer Segment for 2015
Company's Consistent Growth and Continued Success Coincides with 3D Industry Momentum
SAN DIEGO, April 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- XYZprinting, the world's leading 3D printing company, announced today that it has been recognized and continues to sustain its global leadership position in the desktop 3D-printer segment, according to CONTEXT, an IT market-research firm. The new report, 3D Printing Market Trends Q4 2015 and Full Year, revealed XYZprinting leads the Desktop 3D-Printer space, extending its global market share to 31 percent in the last quarter of 2015, and 21 percent for 2015 overall.
In the nascent 3D printing industry, XYZprinting has consistently maintained a strong global market share due to the company's market expertise and focus on product quality and affordability. This is a reflection of the company's affordable product suite, leadership under CEO Simon Shen, and 40-year manufacturing heritage from parent company, New Kinpo Group.
"At XYZprinting we are focused on innovation and evolving the 3D printing industry," said Simon Shen, CEO of XYZprinting and New Kinpo Group. "Our success comes from delivering products that are accessible, high quality, and easy-to-use. Since January, the introduction and momentum of our comprehensive product ecosystem has only further addressed the market's demand for a full suite of solutions for consumer, B2B, and education markets."
The past year was one of impressive growth in XYZprinting's expansion of its 3D product ecosystem, while the company sustains top global market share. At CES 2016, XYZprinting introduced eight different 3D printer models, including a sub-$300 Mini printer and 3D Pen ($49), both launching this summer for consumers. XYZprinting has also made aggressive efforts in the B2B market. This is supported by XYZprinting's newest Nobel printer, a higher priced solution with more advanced technology for commercial use. Unlike Fused Filament Fabrication printers, the Nobel printer is embedded with the latest Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology, which prints castable and standard resin, resulting in an efficient and precise user experience and high print quality. The company also offers a variety of education solutions; such as XYZ STEAM, a free 3D printing curriculum exchange platform, and XYZmaker, an intuitive 3D modeling application for young users.
Echoing XYZprinting's success, the CONTEXT report indicates the market's growth has been driven mainly by the desktop/consumer 3D printer market, while the industrial segment has seen a drop in shipments. Worldwide shipments for 3D printers rose 19 percent in the fourth quarter of 2015, and 30% throughout the full calendar year. Furthermore, in the final quarter of 2015, of the total 73,012 units shipped, the majority of those sales (96 percent) were attributed to low-cost personal/desktop 3D printers, with an average price below $5,000. According to the report, CONTEXT "expects growth in 2016 to be fueled by even more aggressively priced 3D printers." The report also found that device demand is driven by business-to-business (B2B) purchases and supported by individual at-home consumers.
In addition to this most recent accolade from CONTEXT, XYZprinting has been recognized for its high-quality products with awards such as TWICE's "Best Pick" award, Digital Trends' "Top Tech of CES" award, Reviewed.com's "CES Editor's Choice" award, PC Mag's "Best of CES" award, COMPUTEX Taipei 2015 "Best Choice" award and Tech & Learning Magazine's "Best of ISTE 2015" award. Its 3D printers have received widespread attention and reviews from the top media influencers in business and technology, including TechCrunch, Forbes, CNET, and VentureBeat.
