Xyratex Listed as the World's Largest Supplier of OEM Storage Systems for the Second Straight Year

HAVANT, England, Dec. 21, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Xyratex Ltd (Nasdaq: XRTX), a leading provider of enterprise-class data storage subsystems and storage process technology, today announced that IDC recognized Xyratex as the world's largest supplier of disk storage systems to the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) market in 2009. The supplier ranking was based on 2009 revenue and highlighted that Xyratex accomplished this while increasing its market share from 25% to nearly 30%.

In the report issued by IDC, "Worldwide Disk Storage Systems 2009 Vendor Shares: Year in Review," (IDC #225847, December 2010), Xyratex was recognized as the world's largest OEM supplier. In this comprehensive independent review of the worldwide disk storage market, IDC analyzed the market share data of the top 32 disk storage system vendors as well as major storage system OEM suppliers. In IDC's assessment of OEM revenues for selected suppliers, Xyratex ranked first in 2009, capturing 29.8% of the OEM disk storage systems market. Xyratex supplied four of the top five storage systems vendors in 2009, shipping over 1.5 exabytes of storage through its customer base.
