Xsilva Systems showcases Mac-based Point of Sale at CES; demonstrates that mobile POS is about more than just payments
LightSpeed Mobile POS already being used by retailers across the county to complete transactions from anywhere in the store on an iPod touch or iPhone
MONTREAL, Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ - At the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) later this week, where mobile payments and smartphone applications are expected to be a highlight, Xsilva Systems will be showcasing the latest addition to its platform, a fully integrated mobile Point of Sale (POS) system called LightSpeed Mobile.
With LightSpeed Mobile, Xsilva offers retailers the ability to eliminate impersonal cash register line-ups and instead complete transactions on the retail floor using the same hardware as Apple does in its own retail stores. More than just a mobile payment-processing platform, LightSpeed Mobile offers barcode scanning and ties into LightSpeed's business and inventory workflows, making it a viable option for retailers who require a comprehensive back-end system.
"The incredible popularity of handheld devices has changed the game for retailers," said Dax Dasilva, CEO and founder of Xsilva Systems, which makes a comprehensive suite of retail tools tailored to the Mac platform under its LightSpeed brand. "Our LightSpeed Mobile POS gives retailers, regardless of their size, the opportunity to deploy the latest in retail technology without it costing millions of dollars in custom development. Retailers and consumers alike enjoy being able to complete transactions using iPod touch or iPhone from anywhere in the store. LightSpeed Mobile makes that both possible and affordable."
This will be Xsilva's first time at CES, which takes place January 6-9 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. In addition to highlighting LightSpeed Mobile, the company will be introducing conference visitors to the full suite of its Mac-based LightSpeed POS tools. LightSpeed combines a POS for front-counter retail with back-office functions such as inventory management, purchasing, order processing and reporting. The latest version of LightSpeed features a Point of Sale user interface that tightly integrates LightSpeed Mobile workflows, features for multi-store retailers, and expanded support for Xsilva's e-commerce solution, Web Store.
Xsilva will be on the exhibition floor in the North Hall, Grand Lobby, Lower Level Meeting Rooms in booth 3937.
