Xobni Launches First International Product in German
XING Partnership Brings Germany's Largest Business Network to Microsoft Outlook
SAN FRANCISCO, May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Xobni, the company that helps people search and manage their contacts in Microsoft Outlook and on mobile devices, today announced the first localized version of its desktop product in German (http://xobni.de). Xobni also announced a partnership with XING, Germany's most popular business network in the German-speaking market, to show Xobni users XING contact profiles and updates right in the Xobni sidebar in Outlook.
Since Xobni's launch in 2008, nearly half of its 5 million downloads have come from users outside the United States. Xobni is responding to this demand by releasing its first localized version for German speakers around the world. When Xobni detects a German operating system, its download will now offer a complete German experience, with the option to change the download to English during install and in product. Similarly, users with an English OS will be prompted to download in English, but will have the option to switch to German.
"When we looked at the market opportunity in non-English-speaking countries, it was clear that the German-speaking market offered one of the strongest opportunities, particularly since it has some of the highest Exchange/Outlook install numbers in Europe," said Jeff Bonforte, Xobni CEO. "By offering this new version of Xobni auf Deutsch, and by adding the power of Germany's leading business network, XING, we can deliver even more relevant information about any user's contacts right to their inbox."
Xobni users worldwide will now see XING data about their contacts through a new extension in the Xobni sidebar, which sits alongside other leading social networks extensions like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. The XING extension will be available automatically to Xobni users working with a German OS. Any Xobni user who want to display the XING extension can do so simply by changing their Xobni settings in the extension manager.
"The combination of Xobni for Outlook and XING makes emailing more connected and social than ever," said Lars Neumann, Director Product at XING. "Especially for business professionals receiving and sending many emails to many different people, the integration with their own professional network brings communication to a completely new level."
Product Summary
- The German version of Xobni will be available for both the free and Plus versions of Xobni for Outlook.
- German OS users will get a full German experience including installer, opening video, Xobni for Outlook client (except for social extensions), and a localized website (http://xobni.de).
- Payment for Xobni Plus can be made with credit card or Paypal via the German order page.
- Full integration of the XING extension will be available to all Xobni users.
