XL Insurance Announces Retirement of Eileen McCusker, Chief Executive International Property and Casualty

LONDON, June 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- XL Insurance, the global insurance operations of XL Group (NYSE: XL), announced today that Eileen McCusker, Chief Executive International Property and Casualty insurance, will retire from the company effective at the end of the year.

David Duclos, Chief Executive Officer of XL's global insurance operations said: "Throughout her tenure with XL, Eileen has distinguished herself as a leader who has helped build key relationships and XL's reputation in the region. Along with all of XL's leadership, I'm grateful for the impact she has made, particularly in our UK and European operations. We wish her well in all future endeavors."

Joining the company in 1989, Ms. McCusker has held various titles, roles and responsibilities within XL Insurance. She has served in her current position as Chief Executive International P&C since March, 2010 and has been responsible for the alignment and implementation of all of XL's international insurance business units and products. As a senior leader for XL, Ms. McCusker has been responsible for the development and implementation of corporate culture, vision and strategy across the region.

Other positions Ms. McCusker has held include COO for the UK and Ireland Region, Manager of the UK Branch of XL Insurance, and various roles in property underwriting.

Mr. Duclos will take on Ms. McCusker's responsibilities until a successor is named.
