XL Group's North America Property Business Adds Insurance Leader in Dallas

NEW YORK, Sept. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- To help businesses throughout the South Central US protect and insure their industrial and commercial properties, XL Group today added Jay E. Smelser to its North America Property insurance team as South Central Regional Leader.   Mr. Smelser is based in Dallas and reports to Senior Vice President and Head of North America General Property Wade Pitman in Los Angeles.

Mr. Smelser joins XL Group from Zurich Insurance Company where he most recently served as vice president and area property manager.  His extensive 20+ year career also includes experience as a reinsurance underwriter, account executive specialty property broker, and a personal lines insurance agent.
