XL Group Promotes Joe Tocco to Head of North America Property & Casualty; Ken Riegler to Take On Broader Strategic Distribution Responsibilities
NEW YORK, Feb. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- XL Group today announced the appointment of Joseph A. Tocco as Chief Executive of North American Property and Casualty (NAPC) , effective immediately, reporting to Greg Hendrick, Chief Executive of XL's Insurance operations. Mr. Tocco most recently led XL's North America Property business as well as XL Global Asset Protection Services (XL GAPS) and will continue to be based in New York.
Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Hendrick said, "Joe's long track record of running successful underwriting operations, strong broker/client relationships and proven leadership skills make him a natural choice to lead our P&C operations in North America. After a thorough internal and external search for this critical position, we are excited that we found our leader within XL, and we look forward to Joe's continued contributions."
Prior to joining XL in 2011, Mr. Tocco served at Zurich Financial Services as the head of its North American property group. A veteran, Mr. Tocco served as a Nuclear Field Service Engineer in the US Navy for nine years.
XL also today announced that Ken Riegler, head of XL's North America Primary Casualty business, will take on the additional responsibility of leading the North American Distribution and Network. In his expanded position Mr. Riegler will play a prominent role in shaping distribution strategy across XL's North American portfolio of businesses. He will report to Mr. Tocco, and will continue to be based in New York.

Prior to joining XL in 2011, Mr. Riegler served as President of ACE USA's Foreign Casualty and North American Multi National Client groups. He earned Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, from Springfield College and his Masters of Business Administration/International Finance from St. John's University.
