XKL, LLC Joins Together with the Washington Stealth to Raise Money for Northwest Harvest
KIRKLAND, Wash., April 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- XKL, LLC, a leading–edge provider of enterprise fiber optic networking equipment, announces they have joined forces with the National Lacrosse League's Washington Stealth to raise monetary donations and collect food for the Northwest Harvest. The two organizations together collected enough donations to provide over 40,000 meals to those less fortunate throughout the State of Washington.
XKL chose Northwest Harvest as a philanthropic effort earlier this year and began conducting a food drive. After hearing of the Stealth's efforts in helping out a great cause, the two organizations linked efforts. Northwest Harvest is the only non-profit food bank distribution center operating statewide in Washington with a network of over 300 food banks, meal programs and at-risk elementary schools.
"We recently came out of stealth mode, releasing our latest DarkStar® fully integrated, compact optical transport systems DXM10-4 and DXM10-2, that provide businesses a flexible and cost-effective solution for lighting dark fiber," adds Susan Vandament, Director of Business Development for XKL, LLC. "XKL is a proud supporter of the defending National Lacrosse League Champions and their efforts with a number of nonprofit organizations throughout the Puget Sound region including their recent annual 'Pink in the Rink' game to benefit the Puget Sound Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. We look forward to cheering the team on in their final home game of the regular season on Saturday, April 16."
XKL's DarkStar® products include optical transport systems, band combiner devices and amplification systems that are compact, energy-efficient and highly robust devices requiring no optical engineering expertise to implement or operate. DarkStar products' router-like ease of configuration, value and reliability make them the most efficient and cost-effective DWDM technology on the market. These systems can be deployed in metro, regional and long distance networks to achieve end–to–end optical transport delivery. DarkStar products are designed for ease–of–use while decreasing latency across a network. "Many people think about supporting Food Banks around the Thanksgiving holidays, but peoples need for help with food for their table is a year-round problem," said Denise Watkins for Washington Stealth. "Particularly in recent years, with the economic downturn, many more people need a little help to be able to put a healthy meal on the tables for their families. We are very happy to support Northwest Harvest in whatever way we can and help them collect food for local families."
