The 90 Frame X Game is a cash prize game that rewards bowlers for their strike performance over their entire nine games in the 2013 USBC Open Championships and Women's Championships. Bowlers earn points for any strikes they roll in 26 designated frames during the tournament. Each designated frame has a point value; the more points a bowler accumulates, the higher the cash prize payout.
The first bowlers in both the Open Championships and Women's Championships to score 4600 points will win $50,000 from Sports Challenge Network. Other cash prizes will be awarded based upon the number of points an individual bowler accumulates over the entire 90 frames of the contest, ranging from $5 to $1,000.
"We are very excited to bring an added level of competition to this world-class tournament with a fantastic new game, lots of cash prizes and a substantial grand prize," said Tim Minard, founder, chairman and CEO of Sports Challenge Network. "The ability of our app to harness social-mobile technology as a platform for organizing cash contests across games and bowling centers creates an entirely new dynamic for the industry, and for the 2013 USBC Open Championships."
Bowlers wishing to participate in the 90 Frame X Game can enter and track their standings using the xbowling Tournament Edition app developed by SCN specifically for the 2013 Open Championships and Women's Championships. Cash prize payouts are tailored for each bowling designation including Classified, Regular, Diamond, Ruby and Sapphire.
SCN is the developer of xbowling, a free app that empowers bowlers using smartphones or other devices to compete with each other remotely. The industry's first social-mobile application, xbowling ties directly into the scoring systems of technologically-enabled bowling centers and allows bowlers to connect with other players around the world. The app, which is available free from the Apple App Store and Google Play, allows users to enter challenges, win prizes, track their scores and stats on their mobile devices, climb the leaderboards and much more.
