Wyle's Integrated Science and Engineering Group Earns Above and Beyond Award
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Wyle's Integrated Science and Engineering Group, headquartered in Houston, Texas, has been honored with an Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Above and Beyond Award for efforts to its employees serving in the national guard and reserves of the armed forces.
"Wyle Integrated Science and Engineering has set a high standard for businesses in Houston, Texas and around the country," said Jim Stoa of the Military/Employer Outreach Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Texas Committee. "Wyle has gone above and beyond what's required by law when it comes to supporting their guard and reserve employees. It excels at supporting our service members and their families."
Wyle's Integrated Science and Engineering Group was recognized for the unique and outstanding ways it supports guard and reserve component employees. In addition to compliance with the Uniformed Employment and Reemployment Act, Wyle provides differential compensation for up to 12 months for employees in active duty status. Wyle has more than 400 employees at its Houston facility supporting NASA's human space flight program.
By providing the best support to their military employees Wyle's Integrated Science and Engineering Group has been nominated by the Texas organization for the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve for the national Secretary of Defense Employer Support Award, according to Stoa.
The Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award is the highest recognition given by the U.S. Government to employers for their support of their employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve. Nominations must come from a guard or reserve member who is employed by the organization they are nominating, or from a family member.
Additionally, Steve Vander Ark, a Wyle manager in Houston, received a Patriot award from the committee for his outstanding support and cooperation to the needs of reserves employed at the company.
"Wyle's employer supported outreach programs continuously support the Guard and Reserve troops by sending care packages, providing differential pay during military training events and mobilization, and recognizing our many employees who are Vets on Veterans Day," said Captain Adrien Adams, an Air National Guardsman employed by Wyle.
As the 1.3 million members of the National Guard and Reserve continue to perform an increasing number of unique missions with America's borders and beyond, the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Texas Committee will continue to be the resource for the employers of citizen warriors. The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Texas Committee recognizes outstanding support, increases awareness of the law, and resolves conflict through mediation.
