Wyle Wins $46.8 Million Award to Support U.S. Army Missile and Weapon Systems
Wyle Task Order from Reliability Information Analysis Center To Increase Availability of Systems at Lower Costs
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., June 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Wyle has been awarded a contract worth $46.8 million to provide logistics, engineering, technical, programmatic and field engineering services for a variety of missile and close combat weapon systems for the U.S. Army.
The award, in a task order from the Reliability Information Analysis Center, supports the Army's Program Executive Office, Missiles and Space; Close Combat Weapon Systems Project Office; and the Precision Fires Rocket and Missile Systems Project Office, all based on Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Al.
Systems to be supported by Wyle include various versions of the Tube-launched, Optically-tracked, Wire guided missile (TOW), Missile Launch Rocket System (MLRS) and High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), among others.
Wyle, which has supported nearly all these systems for many years, will focus on supporting new and revised systems with the goal of lowering fielding and maintenance costs to the Army. Among many related tasks, the company will develop new fielding processes for the systems including quality control processes and checklists to assure systems deployed are optimized for intended purposes.
Subcontractors assisting Wyle are Cherokee Nation Red Wing, Eleit and Tec-Masters, Inc., all small businesses located in Huntsville.
