Wyle Named 2014 Military Friendly Employer
Recognized by GI Jobs Magazine as a Top Tier Company with Strong Military Recruitment Programs
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Nov. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Wyle has been designated a 2014 Military Friendly Employer® by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs and Military Spouse. Wyle competed for the title and was selected from more than 5,000 companies with resulting survey data independently tested by Ernst & Young LLP based upon the weightings and methodology established by Victory Media. Criteria for selection included the strength of company military recruiting efforts, the percentage of new hires with prior military service, retention programs, and company policies toward National Guard and Reserve service.
Wyle will be showcased, along with other 2014 Military Friendly Employers®, in the December edition of G.I. Jobs magazine and online at MilitaryFriendly.com.
Headquartered in El Segundo, Calif., Wyle is a $1 Billion company employing 4,600 employees nationwide – a large percentage of them veterans. Wyle's employees perform a wide range of technical and professional services on behalf of the U.S. government, allowing those with military experience to continue their service to the nation in a different and challenging way.
"Employing veterans is integral to Wyle's corporate culture," said George Melton, Wyle's CEO and president, who also is an Army veteran. "Wyle seeks out employees who are smart, innovative, responsible, team players and team builders - common traits for those who have served in the military."

These include the Wounded Warrior Project, the San Diego-based Warrior Foundation, the Marine Corps Aviation Association scholarship fund, Christmas in April, and Habitat for Humanity's Veterans Repair Corps.
"The 2014 Military Friendly Employers® represent the preeminent tier of companies with strong military recruitment programs and meaningful job opportunities for transitioning service members and spouses seeking civilian employment," said Sean Collins, Vice President for Victory Media and a nine-year Navy veteran.
