Wyle Draws From Experience to Build its Information Systems Group Leadership Team
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., April 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Wyle has added a trio of experienced veteran executives in the Federal information technology industry to key leadership positions at Wyle's Information Systems Group, headquartered in McLean, Va.
Mark Abel, Paul Thomas and Douglas (Rocky) Thurston, all well known in Federal information technology (IT) circles, were appointed to fill executive slots by Tom Anderson, who was recently named group president of Wyle's Information Systems Group. The executives will be responsible for managing and growing the company's IT services business.

Abel joins Wyle as vice president of business development and strategy. With 22 years in the federal technology market, Abel has successfully directed the strategy and growth of professional services firms in the federal market. He previously served as a vice president of business development at ManTech International and CSC.
Abel is active in the IT community, participating in associations including AFCEA, INSA and ACT/IAC. He serves as industry chair of programs for the upcoming ACT/IAC Management of Change Conference in Philadelphia May 22 to 25.
Thomas joins Wyle as vice president and general manager for the Defense and Intelligence Programs Division. Thomas brings more than 20 years senior management experience, and more than 14 years managing profit and loss responsibility in support of technology programs for federal clients.
Prior to his current role, he was chief operating officer for a division of L-3, president of North American operations for an international financial firm, and chief operating officer for a division of CSC. Thomas retired from a career in military intelligence with the Army.
Thurston joins Wyle as vice president and general manager for the Civilian Agency Programs Division. He has more than 15 years proven experience leading sophisticated information technology service organizations spanning from small businesses to Fortune 100 companies.
He previously managed civilian programs for a division of Lockheed Martin and MSD, Inc., where he delivered mission systems and solutions to financial and regulatory clients. Thurston also worked in senior level positions at Booz Allen & Hamilton, and served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force supporting the F-15 and missile test programs.
